I was delighted to learn about some new resources at the Texas Home School Coalition conference so I thought I'd share them. Even if you do not homeschool, there are still many wonderful books and supplies from these vendors that you can enjoy with your kids.
Lamplighter Ministries
They find old literature from the 17th and 18th centuries and reprint them in beautiful hardback books. These stories are good and wholesome and are filled with inspiring role models who help the reader to build character. They even carry beautifully illustrated versions for younger children. I'd love to get some of these for my kids! Their books would make great Christmas gifts for those who love to read.
Miller Pads and Paper
LOVE this store. They carry art supplies, art books, paper, craft supplies, etc. Their prices are unbelievably low. I purchased a bare hardback book for Ella to use as her nature journal for only $3.00! You can also purchase a stack of 100 sheets of construction paper for $1.99!
Lifetime Books and Gifts
They carry the best books. I have a whole laundry list of items I want to purchase from them.
Usborne Children's Books
I purchased several of their children's encyclopedias to use in our homeschool. They're filled with gorgeous and engaging pictures. Ella loves to sit and thumb through them and ask questions. Usborne is a favorite of mine and I keep going back for more! Definitely check them out!
Love to Learn
They carry curriculum, books, supplies, etc.
Institute for Creation Research
ICR equips believers with evidence of the Bible's accuracy and authority through scientific research, educational programs, and media presentations, all conducted within a thoroughly biblical framework. You can sign up to receive a free monthly publication.
Genius Babies
Genius Babies was not at the conference, but I wanted to share them anyway. I found them online a couple years ago. They carry fun and educational toys for babies and young children. I have purchased several things from them in the past and they were a great hit with my kids. My kids love the Melissa & Doug Wooden Shape Sorting Clock and the eeBoo World and USA maps (they like to look on the map and see where Mimi and Poppy live as well as point out how to get to Disney World). You can feel good purchasing from Genius Babies because not only are their toys well-made, beautiful and fun, but they are educational as well.
Happy Shopping!
