I've discovered in life that it does not matter how many friends you have, it only matters that you have one, two or even just a few quality friends.  A friend is your best defense for loneliness.  A friend encourages and assures you that you are awesome, even when you don't feel like you are.  While we love our husbands, let's face it - they simply are not interested in hearing every detail of our day, thoughts, etc.  But a girlfriend is.  I think that's why God made friends :o)
