Mc D's

Ella's most favorite restaurant is Mc Donald's. I often think, "what is it about that place?", but I'm obviously not looking at it through a child's eyes when I ask that question. What kid wouldn't want to eat a meal of chicken nuggets, fries and chocolate milk, complete with a free toy, and followed by an hour of play time in the indoor play structure? Ella asks to go to Mc Donald's at least 5 times per week. Of course we do not take her every time she asks, so when she does get to go she is super excited. While Christian does not show any interest in fries or chicken nuggets, he does enjoy the chocolate milk and he tries his best to keep up with the "big kids" in the play area.

We went to Mc Donald's today with a friend of mine and her daughter. The noise level was amazingly loud since it was right at the height of lunch time. Every mom and child from the surrounding neighborhoods was there, I swear. Several children thought it would be fun to belt out blood-curdling screams and we commented on how we can't stand it when children do that. We were later horrified when we realized that our precious darlings were standing at the top of the play structure screaming at the top of their lungs for the sheer pleasure of hearing their own voices. That, of course, made us yell at them to stop yelling. :o) All in all, we had a good time. The kids played themselves out and we spent nearly two hours discussing God, church issues, spiritual truths, politics, and other random controversial topics (she's one of the few friends that I have that I can comfortably talk about that stuff with).

Oh, and I love the iced coffee at Micky D's - it tastes just as good as Starbucks (sorry, Mike), and it only costs about $1.83.
